I learned place value and I put up place values pictures of hundreds, tens, 0nes,.
First I wrote the numbers in the place value house. I went on a google draw and started writing the numbers.
Next I copy and paste the pictures into the place value house. I made sure they all fit and checked it all.
I enjoyed writing the number. What I did well was put the pictures. What I need to improve on is checking it.
I infered a picture about the Treaty Of Waitangi. I wrote 6 I can see and I can infer on a google drawing. An inference is when you try and guess what the author is trying to say without looking at the text the author has wrote.
First I wrote I can see so I can infer. The picture was hard cause it was just a small easy picture and it was fake but I tried my best and wrote as much as I can. The treaty was signed to bring protection, partnership and participation.
Next I made it pretty, checked ymyspelling and added more information.
I enjoyed writing about the treaty of waitangi. What I did well was making it pretty. What I need to improve on is adding more information to my work.
I revised on how to summarise on a book. The book I summarised is called Honey makers and I talks about jack’s dad telling the reader of the book how he collects honey to sell to the public. A summary is finding 20 key words and choosing the most 6 important words to go with your own story.
First I read the book to try and find 20 important key words. I wrote my keywords I thought was best to add to my own explanation.
Next I chose 6 of the most important words that will tell my explanation of bees faster. It was hard because all of them were good but I chose the six and I wrote my sentences.
Lastly I wrote the explanation of bees. I checked my spelling and high lighted the six words I wrote in my explanation.
I enjoyed finding and writing the keywords. What I did well was write my sentences. What I need to improve on is reading the book.
We have been learning how to write recounts using the TREE structure. We had to chose an image to inspire an imaginative recount. Here is my work.
Two weeks ago I went on a vacation to an uncanny house in the middle of the sea. I stayed there for three nights but as soon as I got there I wanted to leave straight away. It was too late because the ship sailed off and I was trapped here for three nights.
First we grabbed our furniture and stayed at the very top but there was an issue. Our fridge was too hefty to carry so we emptied the fridge by putting our food in a box but there was another problem. Our box was too heavy and my mum got mad so we just threw the groceries into the sea and down went the snacks. My mum called a crane to come and they said yes but it cost 5 billion dollars so we brought it and it took 7 disturbing hours to get here.
Next I sat on the sand eating cooked fish we fished out from the sea. I only got a little bit because we caught a [adjective] sardine. After we ate dinner, I played on my PC but there was another problem. There was no internet so it was a waste of time to bring my PC. My mum called a ship to take us to the shop to buy us [adjective] clothes and a souvenir from the market but the ship was a market. I only brought a turtle necklace because I love turtles. I went back to the hotel and swam in the beach but there was ANOTHER problem. A poisonous octopus sent out so many hungry baby octopi and they were all attached to me so we cooked them as well as the enormous octopus.
Then I went to sleep for the first night but there was still ANOTHER problem. A ship was honking at a dolphin for having a hole in its head so I went outside and yelled. GO AWAY CAUSE I’M TRYING TO SLEEP! So when he left said “I had the worst day of my life”. The next morning I had hermit crabs and they were delicious. I went outside and yelled at the dolphin for having the hole on its head and the guy from last night who got yelled at by me said I CALLED THE POLICE ON YOU. So that’s why I swam 45 miles back home to get my 1 centimeter water gun and swam back so I can spray him.
I enjoyed eating octopus. I felt sick and started vomiting.
I learned how to find information inside a book called Honey Makers. We answered questions about the book called honey makers by commenting.
First I wrote what I already know about bees and wrote what I think the book might be about.
Next I had to write the definition of what it means like a veil. A veil is what protects your face from getting stung.
Lastly I wrote the answers of the questions about the book.
I enjoyed writing what I already know about bees. What I did well was write the answers to the questions. I need to improve on writing the prediction.
On Wednesday I wrote a recount about the perspective of who was present at the Treaty. I need to act like I’m Rangatira and thought of what he felt, saw and heard. Rangatira means a Maori chief.
First I walked my tribe to the tent and voted who will be chosen to sign the treaty. I got chosen to sing it so all the other tribes picked someone and we all stood in front of the treaty. I heard the minister talking about how much responsibility we have to take.
Next I signed the treaty and I had to protect them from people stealing our stuff. He needs to make sure kids will always stay inside the village and never go out. It’s very hard cause I get stabbed in the stomach 5 times. I had to go to my mum who was good at healing people and healed me. I stood back up and went to finish my job.
Lastly I walked my tribe back to the village and had a feast for the celebration. We had taro, pig, bread, curry and chicken. I was standing outside looking after our village until the maori warriors came. I felt nervous because they had blades and it was just me. I heard support from my family and I saw people helping me. They went away but not a single killed so they finished their feast and I finished my job for the day.
I enjoyed signing the treaty. What I did well was protect my tribe. I need to improve on not getting hurt.
On the first day of school I put up some pictures of what I like to do, where I want to go, what I want to see and what do with my spare time.
First I found some selfies of my cousins. It took me five minutes to find the photo because of how small the photos were.
Next I found some of my favorite things to do when I’m at home on Google.
Lastly I made it pretty by changing the backround, mixing the colours together and wrote my name with a different font and a different colour like greeen.
I enjoyed finding my favorite things of the internet. What I did well was write my name big and clear. I need to improve on is finding my photos quick.
