Sid – Character Profile

For Reading we did a character profile on our own narrative. My character is Sid the colossal squid. I had to write the Physical Appearance, Personality Traits, Name, Species, Age, Gender, Morals and Actions.

First I continued my previous work which was my brainstorm and my narrative plan.

Next I did my character profile. My character was Sid the squid and he was the main character of my narrative story.

Lastly I drew my character and blogged it.

I enjoyed the character profile. What I did well was my brainstorm. I need to improve on drawing my character.

The Rainbow Fish

For Reading I made a comic strip about a story called The Rainbow Fish. I had to recap the story in my own words and I also made my own pictures. The Rainbow Fish is about a fish who had glittery, shiny scales. He was very greedy and never wanted anyone to have his scales. Since then nobody wanted to be his friend or hangout with him because of his greediness. Rainbow Fish met a wise octopus and told the rainbow fish to give his scales and leave one for him. When he did that, he was happy to see the other fishes happy and he was never lonely again.

First I went on the mat and my reliever Ms Mclean told us what to do. Our task was to make a comic strip about the rainbow fish and blog it.

Next I went on a table and started writing and drawing about the rainbow fish. I had to write past tense words, verbs, adverb, adjectives and nouns.

Lastly I showed my work to a teacher and I blogged by comic strip.

Visualising

For reading we learned about Visualising. Our task was to write our own visualising writing and a partner has to write what they saw, felt, heard, taste and smelt. Visualising is a phrase or story read to you and you have to imagine what it looks like.

First I chose a partner name Norman and we both agreed that I will write and he will draw so I wrote all about jungles. Here is my story I wrote: It was a misty morning in a mysterious jungle. I felt the sensation of wet leaves rubbing on my skin. I smelt the colourful flower and the salty water at the beach. I heard elephants stomping loudly and monkeys swinging on branches roughly but Ialso felt a slight sense of melancholy getting into my body. I tasted the fresh air and the rain drops from the wet leaves.

Next my partner Norman had to write what he saw, felt, heard, taste and smelt in the story I wrote.

Lastly he made a drawing of the writing I did.

I enjoyed doing this task. What I did well was write the story. I need to improve on adding more adjectives.

 

My Dragon

For Reading I did one task and it was called My Dragon. I read a story called dragons, dragons, dragons and answered the questions that was in the story, then I made my own dragon using shapes.

First I read a book and it was called dragons, dragons, dragons. It talks about dragons who are all alone and wanted to make friends. There cave was next to a town so they started asking the public but they were all scared. They weer confused of why are they running away until they figured it out. They said they needed to be helpful so they started cooking sausage sizzles for all of the people and thats how they befriend people.

Next I answered some questions. The questions talked about the story, I wrote the story again but in my own words and made it short. I answered the questions and filled in the answers but I made some mistakes.

Lastly I made my own dragon using shapes and wrote what is its name, its age, its special powers and his peronality

I enjoyed doing this task. What I did well was do the drawing. I need to improve on answering the questions.

 

Ordering Fractions

For math we learned about ordering fractions. Ordering fractions is when mixed fractions are outside the box and you have to order them like smallest to biggest and it is kind of easy. I was with my partner Hasna who was helping me do this but there was a problem. I don’t know how to write it because my keys on my chrome does not know how to write fractions so I used slash and I finished it.

Compare and Contrast

For reading we learned about comparing and contrasting. Compare means finding out the similarities of a noun and a animal. Contrasting is finding out the differences of the same picture that relates to the topic.

First we did some reading theory. Reading theory is a reading website where you have to read the text and answer the questions to get a knowledge point for each one you get right.

Next I went of and did the task. Our task was to find out the differences and the simarlarities on rivers. The pictures were a dirty river and a clean river so so it was easy.

Lastly I made my DLO. I wrote what a comparison is and what a contrast is.

I enjoyed doing this task. What I did well was spelling. I need to improve on contrasting.

Literal questions

We learned how to find answers in the text.

First we read the story to find information that gives us clues of what the answers are in the questions

Next we write the answers to the questions.

Lastly we have to make our own story.

I enjoyed writing the answers in the questions. I did well was read and understand the story. I need to improve on writing the story

Tumble

This term we did tumbles to do each learning activitys more fun. we get into groups and we swap stations every 20 minutes.

First we did SSR selfie. SSR selfie is a learning activity to read and explain the fiction and non-fiction books and can be used for homework and at school.

Next we did cloze. Cloze is and writing activity youn write on your book to spell missing words and good  hand writing.

Lastly we did fact find. Fact find is when you chose a person and research facts about it.

I enjoyed doing the fact find. What I did well was do the SSR selfie. I need to improve on is my handwriting.

SSR Selfie – fiction and non fiction

Today I did a reading task called SSR selfie. It helps me learn the main characters, what happend in the story so far and three meaning of the technical words in the book.

First we chose one fiction book and one non fiction book.

Next we did wrote the main characters, what happend in the story so far and three meanings of the technical words in the book.

Lastly I took a picture of my self and named my title.

I enjoyed writing the main characters, what happend in the story so far and three meanings of the technical words in the book. I did well when taking a photo of the picture. I need to improve on reading the book.

 

 

 

Observal information

We retrieved information about an image.

First we looked at the picture and saw observal things in the picture.

Next we we wrote the observal information next to the questions but there might be fural questions and they might. trick us.

Lactly we did a image but there was only words so we read it and wrote the observal information next to the question.

I enjoyed writing the question because I saw the things in the image and write the observal information next to the question. What I did well was looking at the picture because I wear glasses. What I need to improve on is making sure the sentences make sense becaus it always make no sense when I write sentences.
