Monday KickStart

This Week the Summer Learning Journey has started today and we are making a comic strip at the beach. I made up a story of my own and turned it into a comic strip. I also put some of my own pictures. My title is called Crab vs Sea gulls and it is very cool. It is about a crab chillaxing until a sea gull came and pooped all over the crab. The crab was furious and wanted to battle the sea gull. Comic Strip – Narrative

For Reading we made our own comic strip on our own narrative. I drawn and wrote some text to make it look like a comic. I wrote the important parts of the story. The main character is sid the squid which is a made up character I made on my own. If you want to read my narrative then read here.

 

                                      

 

In the 1980’s there was a place called the Marine Pizzaria which had a daycare called the Atlantic Daycare and it used to be the best place to celebrate kids parties. One day it was a kid’s birthday and a worker was making a pizza and he left it in the oven but he had a phone call. After one hour of talking through the phone he went to go check back onto the pizza and he did not know it was burnt. When he touched the pizza his hands were burning red and had to go to the hospital. Since that day it has been a lot harder to work now that one person is gone. No one wanted to be hired back in those days so it was shut down never to be opened again until 20 years later the owner decided to reopen it for a new year of the 2000’s so he ordered a new animatronic from Canada and three weeks later it came in.

 

 The Owner powered him on and introduced him to the new animatronics. The names of the Atlantic band were Olive the Octopus, Hank the Shark, Henry the Stingray, Jake the Turtle and the New animatronic Sid the Colossal Squid. Once the owner Bob left for some reason sid was powered off so the band just started to go into the playplace and just started chilling in the ball pit. What Bob did not know is that he got the animatronic from a hacker and the hacker can control the animatronic any way possible. The Hacker put a microchip in the endoskeleton and that microchip allowed weapons to spawn out of his tentacles. A few days go by and Bob is just teaching them songs but he was confused. Sid was missing. Bob and the band started looking for Sid but there was no sight of him. Until someone zoomed past them and they were scared and not so soon after Sid came jumping from the ceiling and jumpscared Bob and Bob’s face was blank. He froze in terror and he did not know what to say.

 

Sid starts to get closer and closer to the band while Olive is trying to figure out what is going on. Sid’s eyes started to glow bright red and knew what was going to happen. Every animatronic knows that if there are red eyes then that means it has weapons unlocked and out came a water blaster out of one tentacle. Sid started blasting water and it made the walls and floors turn into ice. Jake the turtle was so slow that Sid managed to blast him and his legs froze to the ground. While the band is trying to run, Olive stops for a moment. He looked familiar to him but he couldn’t remember until he found out that he had a missing brother a long time ago.  When Olive was first built he used to be in another pizzeria with an animatronic who was his brother. Olive and his brother were having a great time singing until robbery came in and stole everything but not olive. Sid was stolen and never was seen again until now he did not know if it was Olive’s brother or not but as he was thinking he was also running. They managed to get away and had a discussion in the staff only room. They are trying to figure out what has gone into him but they also wanted to get Bob back in the  staff room. They were discussing who to go while Sid was throwing furniture all around the room.

 

Hank was brave enough to get out and save Bob but Sid sensed Hank because of his fishy smell and Sid found hank. Hank wanted to get away but Sid’s tentacles were no match for him so he pulled him back and he ripped off Hank’s fin. He threw hank to the wall and smashed him. Sid went into the staff room and found them so they set a trap and boom they managed to knock him out. They thought it was over but it was not. Sid woke up and started to grow big. Olive knew why he grew big because he is a colossal squid and if you don’t know what a colossal squid is trs a giant squid. He had stronger weapons and pulled out his next surprise. He threw five walking piranhas and he sent them to each animatronic. He started slamming and pushing and hitting the floor while the rest were trying to dodge them. Hank suddenly woke up from the loud bang and saw a microchip in his endoskeleton so hank linked to sids back and started climbing but sid knew so he started to graph hank from his back and crush him until he tripped and hitted jakes shell and feel down. Hank, Henry and Olive held each tentacle while Hank removed the microchip and Sid felt dizzy. Once he shook his head he saw how broken all the things were. The play place was burned into ashes. Hank had wires and missing limbs all around his body and even worse, Bob was in a concussion.

 

Sid grew back to his size and he apologised to each and every one of them and the piranha’s grew back and turned into fish toys. Sid woke Bob up and Bob was confused. He saw how ruined the daycare was but he was not mad. He spent 3,000 dollars paying workers to rebuild it into a better place and soon Bob opened the Atlantic daycare to the public and the band with Sid was singing songs. Hank’s costume was ruined but not the endoskeleton so they replaced his costume with a seahorse and now he was turned from hank the shark to hank the seahorse. Jake the turtle  had to wait 8 hours for the ice to melt down and he had to be the animatronic who cooked the pizza while the band and the children playing at the daycare were happy and they ended with a happy atlantic ending or is it.

 

A new animatronic came in the mail from the same owner but Bob did not buy it. He thought it could be useful since it was free so he introduced it to the band and the kids. Her name was Rebbeca the JellyFish and she was the only girl. She had no microchip but she had an evil hacker who could still control her. She has a tank full of jelly poison and octopus ink. Lets see the drama Rebbeca has for us now.

My Super Hero

For The Summer Learning Journey I did a kick start on it and I had to create my own super hero depending on where my enviroment is. It is related to samoan because that is my culture. My Class all watched a video on how to create my own super hero and we went off. I wrote adjectives on what my super hero’s abilities are, their weapons, their nemesis and many more. I went on a website called Craiyon   where an AI( artificial intelligence) can draw your picture by describing what it looks like. I added Kakamora’s  for my side kicks is because they can be helpful at stopping my nemesis. If you want to see more then here is my work. 

My Samoan Super Hero

For My Summer Learning Journey I made my own super hero that is related to my enviroment, culture, my place and many more. I wrote the name, age, personallity, likes, dislikes, weapons, goals and abilities. this is what a wrote. It is about samoan culture because that is my culture. He is a helpfulsuper hero and is great for my enviroment. He can clean rubbish and can always help other people. He can be very helpful because of the rubbish. I wish he could be real because he is very cool and very helpful. Here is My work.

 

Sid – Character Profile

For Reading we did a character profile on our own narrative. My character is Sid the colossal squid. I had to write the Physical Appearance, Personality Traits, Name, Species, Age, Gender, Morals and Actions.

First I continued my previous work which was my brainstorm and my narrative plan.

Next I did my character profile. My character was Sid the squid and he was the main character of my narrative story.

Lastly I drew my character and blogged it.

I enjoyed the character profile. What I did well was my brainstorm. I need to improve on drawing my character.

Respecting Our Teachers

For PB4L we learned how to respect our teachers. We need to respect our people who take care of us is because they are trying their best to take care of us and you will never know what people are going through.

First I went in a circle and we talked about questions of why we should respect the people who take care of us.

Next I answered the questions on the jamboard.

Lastly I made a presentation and made a movie witha group of why you should respect your teachers.

I enjoyed doing this task. What I did well was the jamboard. I need to improve on my presentation.

Te Reo

For Te Reo we learned directions in maori and we also learned how to say where is and what is in maori.

First I went on the mat and watched some songs on a song website full of maori songs.

Next I wrote the directions in maori.

Lastly I had to write my own where is and put a picture of it.

I enjoyed doing this task. What I did well was the directions. What I need to imrpove on is the picture and the where is work

Attribution

For cybersmart we learned how to attribute images. I made a presentation on how you can attribute images. I wrote it step by step and made sure that a junior can understand it.

First I continued on my previous work from last week. Our work from last week was to attribute 2 images and put it on a presentation

Next I made a presentation and started writing it in steps. It needs to be for a junior to see.

Lastly I checked by work and blogged it.

I enjoyed doing this task. What I did well was last weeks work. I need to imrpove on making it easier for a kid to understand it.

 

What is a Prototype?

For inquiry we learned what a prototype is before we create our bookmarks and pencil cases. Our school is having a gala to raise school money so each class in Panmure Bridge School will make a useful product to sell and our product we are selling is pencil cases and bookmarks. A prototype is a first version of  a device. It needs to be modelled before it could be properly produced.

First LS1 watched a video of what prototype is. Its a video of a boy and a girl havinga useless vacum and decided to make a model of their own one. They got the idea of a drawing that their dad has drawed to design the backyard.

Next I went off and made a presentation on what a prototype is and why we need a prototype. We need a prototype is because without a model then what are we going to fix or what are we going to make better.

Lastly I checked my work to my teacher and blogged it.

I enjoyed doing the presentation about the prototype. What I did well was explain a better explanation on what a prototype is. I need to improve on adding more information to my presentation.

HPE

For HPE we revised on sprinting and we learned how to throw a discuss. Our coach teacher were writing down the names of who are going to make it into the athletics.

First the boys in my group did sprinting. We practised for athletics day so we can learn how to run properly and safely.

Next I did discuss. I had to mark where it bounced and put a cone their. When you are throwing a discuss you need to face the direction of what hand you use so if you are right handed then your body faces the right way but if you are left handed then you face your body to the left side and you put your arm straight and the disscus is facing downwards. When you are about to lauch you flip your hand and flick, no throwing.

Lastly I went back in class and had morning tea.

I enjoyed doing this task. What I did well was the discuss. I need to imrpove on sprinting.
